Esta semana los estudiantes crearán encuestas y graficaran los resultados en gráficas de barras, de puntos y en pictografías.
This week the students will create a survey and they will graph the results using a bar graph, a pictograph and a dot plot.

Esta semana continuamos con la unidad de medición. Estaremos haciendo conversiones con unidades métricas y unidades del sistema inglés para capacidad y peso.
This week we will continue with the measurement unit. We will be making conversions in metric units and customary units for capacity and mass.
Semana #23 Perímetro y tiempo transcurrido
Esta semana estaremos terminando el módulo en perímetro y empezando tiempo transcurrido. Los estudiantes tendrán que saber el tiempo transcurrido cuando se les de un tiempo inicial y un tiempo final. También, tendrán que poder sacar el tiempo inicial o final cuando se les de el tiempo transcurrido.
This week we will be finishing perimeter and beginning our unit in elapsed time. The students will have to figure out the elapsed time when given an initial and final time. Also, they will have to figure out the initial or final time when given the elapsed time.

Estaremos trabajando en encontrar el perimetro de poligonos. Los estudiantes encontraran el perimetro o encontraran el lado desconocido cuando se les de el perímetro de una figura.
We will be working on finding perimeter of polygons. The students will find the perimeter or finding an unknown side when they are given the perimeter of a shape.

Esta semana trabajaremos con problemas razonados de múltiples pasos de multiplicación. Los estudiantes aprenderán a utilizar diferentes estrategias para resolver los problemas incluyendo grupos iguales, matrices, rectas numéricas, propiedades de la multiplicación o memorización.
This week we will be working with multiple step multiplication word problems. The students will learn how to use different multiplication strategies to solve the problems including, equal groups, arrays, number lines, multiplication properties or recall of facts.

Esta semana empezaremos la unidad de multiplicación. Nos enfocaremos en crear grupos iguales y encontrar los productos de varios factores. Las palabras importantes de esta semana en matemáticas son : factores, producto, operaciones, arreglo y matriz. Utilizaremos la recta numérica para representar un problema de multiplicacion.

Continuaremos trabajando en perfeccionar el redondear números hasta las decenas de millar. Usaremos números compatibles para resolver problemas con estimación. Trabajaremos en aprender el valor de cada moneda y resolveremos problemas razonados de sumas y restas.
We will continue working in perfecting our rounding skills. We will round numbers up to ten thousands. We will use compatible numbers to solve problems with estimation. We will work in learning the value of coins and we will solve word problems about addition and subtraction.

Esta semana los estudiantes continuarán trabajando con fracciones equivalentes. Terminaremos la semana trabajando con números compatibles y estimación de sumas y restas.
This week the students will continue working with equivalent fractions. We will finish the week with compatible numbers and estimation of addition and subtraction problems.

Los estudiantes usarán varios objetos, modelos y rectas numéricas para explicar que dos fracciones son equivalentes. También, tendrán que comparar dos fracciones que tengan el mismo numerador o denominador en problemas razonados y tendrán que justificar su conclusión usando símbolos, palabras, objetos y modelos.
The students will use a variety of objects, models and number lines to explain that two fractions are equivalent. Also, they will compare two fractions with the same numerator or denominator in word problems and they will have to justify their answer using symbols, words, objects and models.

Esta semana continuaremos trabajando con fracciones que tienen de denominador 2, 3, 4, 6, y 8. Los estudiantes aprenderán a identificar fracciones en una recta numérica. Ellos compondrán y descompondrán una fracción usando sumas (1/4 + ¼ = 2/4). También, encontraran fracciones equivalentes usando diferentes objetos, rectas numéricas, y dibujos.
This week in math we will continue working with fractions that have a denominator of 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8. The students will learn to identify fractions on a number line. They will compose and decompose fractions using addition. Also, they will learn to find equivalent fractions inn a number line, using objects and pictorial models.

This week we will continue learning about place value up to 100,000. We will work on composing and decomposing numbers. We will use a number line to compare and order numbers up to 100,000. We will describe the relationship found in the base 10 place value through the hundred thousand place.
